FAQs

  • That answer varies for everyone! I commit to checking in about progress and direction and purpose of therapy so that you are able to feel grounded in how you define ‘readiness.’ That being said, on average, 6 -12 months is an average length of time with my clients, historically.

  • I think the therapy space is co-created. I will always come prepared with ways to hold our space through dialogue, reflection, exercises, etc. I am equally open to putting aside ‘planned agendas’ to be present to what is most relevant to meet the moment as well. In that way, you do not need to come ‘prepared’ though I am adaptable if you are! Come as you are! We will always check-in and put things ‘out on the table’ as I like to say so we know how best to use our time together.

  • The best way I explain this to folks is “as little or as much” as it feels helpful to you. If faith or Christianity specifically is a part of your identity now or in the past, you can rest assured that I have a working knowledge and my own experience that will not require much ‘explanation’ on your end. At the same time, I don’t assume that our experience or theology is identical.

  • I use a HIPAA compliant platform that functions similarly to Zoom. It is very user-friendly and you can log in via your computer or phone.

The beauty of telehealth is that you can come as you are, wherever you feel most comfortable. Stay in your pajamas, meet with me during a walk – whatever floats your boat! I’d ask that you just be mindful of your privacy and other distractions to make the most of our time together!

  • I am licensed in California and Massachusetts so I can only provide services if you are physically located in these states. Keep in mind that even as a resident of CA or MA, if you’re traveling out of state, I am unable to legally hold sessions with you. You must physically be present in the state in which I am licensed.

  • Never say never! As of right now, there are no concrete plans to provide therapy in-person.

  • I understand the systemic and financial barrier that mental health services can be under insurance companies and their requirements. That is why I offer a limited number of sliding scale slots at any given time.

Being an in-network provider with insurance companies necessitates a diagnosis be rendered in order to utilize your benefits. Other contractual agreements limit my ability to work the way that I most prefer and that benefits you most. I value the freedom and autonomy of operating outside of those bounds to deliver the best personalized care.
